I-need-a Dita

I've been on a new shoe hunt for the past several months, and these woven Dita platform pumps are my latest prey...aren't they the hottest?

secret weapons, may.11

a short lesson in logic:

. i looove shoes
. i'm short...petite, if you will
. if you are height-challenged, and you wear nude shoes, they will give the illusion that you are taller*
. therefore, i must make room in the closet for rebecca minkoff's debut shoe collection.

*note: this equation may not apply to all skin tones.

i spotted these doll boots on a client earlier in the week and haven't been able to get them outta my mind...a perfect color to wear with everything, and the heel height is just right:

and then there's the vixen platform pump- these beauties have been sitting in my shopping cart for a month next to a michael kors rose gold watch. maybe it's time to bring em on home.

I'm just counting down the days until the sun shines and I can leave my socks behind. Each of these styles, however, would look adorable with tights or ankle socks in the meantime.

the great clog debate, mar.10

as you already know, i'm a little coocoo for clogs. i made it through the winter without a splurge, but now that spring is nipping at my heels i'm afraid i must give in.

i've had my eye on these sweet mamma jammas for a while now, but it didn't seem right buying open toed shoes while enduring one snow storm after another. they're pretty chunky and i know they run the risk of being unflattering but i've seen them on co-workers and have proof that they are sooo cute.

and then there are these babies. they have that unexpected super high heel and cute peep toe detail.

i love them both for different reasons but i just can't decide which to make mine. my boo doesn't like either of them, but i want your opinion.

puddle jumping, feb.10

it seems like an appropriately drizzly day to ask this question of you...

being a seattle girl, i've held off on buying rain boots for most of my life (with one unfortunate cowboy-style mishap 3.5 years ago). but the new york sidewalks are hard enough on my shoes n boots, and i think it's only fair that i give them a break from these rainy days to come. so:

rain booties?
(cuterainboots, $51.99)

or boots?
(loeffler randall, $195)*

*this style is unavailable at the moment but will be re-released in august. worth the wait?

Best Of Lucky, feb. '10

So I was thinking about posts and what I'm obsessed with these days. Instead of racking my brain into writers block (which is why you haven't heard from me in a while), I thought "Let's keep it simple." Every month for at least 10 years (or how ever long it has been on the magazine racks) I've gone through Lucky Magazine issues and flagged everything I like and/or want to purchase. So why not list them here instead of lugging around old magazine clippings? That way, you readers can spare yourself the $3.50 and the guilt of killing trees and I'll do all the heavy lifting. Makes perfect sense to me, really! So, without further ado...my picks from the February 2010 issue:

My introduction to Danish rocker Mette Lindberg. Isn't she gorgeous?

Coco was awfully on trend by posting about plaid wool weekenders. Grab this one by Filson for 25% off by entering "lucky1" at checkout.

These are tough, I'll admit, but bless your Tomboy ass if you can pull it off. Olive green desert boots are on point for my obsession with Arizona attire. Get these by J Shoes here.

Perfect "toast" nail color to add to my collection by RGB

All natural Korres Lip Butter in Quince. Hurry and get it for less than $6 by entering "lucky4" at checkout.

Good ol' cuticle and dry skin shizz. I'm a sucker for this crap.

nowhere to hide, nyc, dec.09

weeks ago i fell in love with a certain pair of rachel comey brown leather tasseled boots. i thought about them night and day and envisioned the endless ways in which i would wear them. i even serendipitously bumped into them at the lucky shops event and, at 20% off, somehow mustered the strength to say no.

just when i thought this was all behind me, the ankle bootie version comes knocking at my door.
