Lapis Luxury

Everywhere I turn these days there are little pops of lapis leaping out at me. I like it.

Scarlet Fever

I'm lovin on Refinery29's Vday beauty guide...

Glow Baby, Glow
'To get your face ready for a special event, aesthetician Nina Patino recommends a two-step treatment that will give you radiant, glowing skin. Take 1 tablespoon of sour cream and 1 teaspoon of baking soda and mix them together. Massage the mix onto your face, neck, décolletage, and top of hands. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse with warm water. Then, take warm oatmeal, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, and an egg yolk, mix them all together and apply to clean skin, leaving on for 30 minutes.

"This scrub and mask combo will lighten and hydrate your skin," she says. "Sour cream contains lactic acid and baking soda is an anti-bacterial, so they’re perfect to help erase blemishes as well." '

...and especially intrigued by the body scrub recipe:

Get Nekkid

'If you plan on baring it all at the end of the evening (or at the start of the date, you minx you), you want to be sure your body is bangin'. Patino recommends starting a mini detox treatment a few weeks before the big day (aka, now). Combine used ground coffee, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and a few drops of cognac into a paste. Massage it into skin using exfoliating gloves. Do this until your body feels hot — about 5-10 minutes. Gently pinch your thighs, butt, and stomach until skin is red and itchy, then rinse off the concoction using warm water (no soap!). Follow up by drinking a cup of organic green tea. Do this once a week in the days leading up to your big date for skin that looks and feels amazing.'

A perfect pack

There’s something so light and pure about this YUE Pocket Backpack.

Perhaps this is the perfect carryall for an upcoming week in San Francisco and Big Sur. It seems an appropriate partner for scaling sand dunes and biking across bridges, no?
