the cynthia rowley spring 10 show started off with a bang...or rather a huge drop cloth suddenly falling from above to create the runway for these fairy tale frocks. the theme appeared to be retro-sweet-deconstructed. fuzzy floral print dresses and slashed satin ciggie pants mingled with shimmery crewneck sweaters and sassy flared shorts (my fave). overall a beautiful show. one question: why was james frey sitting front row?

lovelies, i know i'm not the only girl to be completely romanced by every scene, that moon river crooning and each sweet ensemble donned by the leading lady in myfavoritemovieever. her cheeky accessories are no exception which is why i'm just thrilled to discover this holly golightly sleepmask!!! what girl doesnt need a gold-trimmed, large-lashed sleep accessory? not one comes to mind. what i can think of is how much i'd kill for matching turquoise tassled earplugs...life would be complete.

tis the season for flying cross country to watch friends tie knots! it's always nice to see a new take on an old tradition, such as these awesome alex & chloe for revolve clothing wedding bands...delicate, dainty but still slightly daring.

so about 6 years ago, while still just a fashionistette at FIDM in San Francisco, i did a little forecasting project based on the trend of wearing socks and heels. i was certain this look would soon be spotted on city streets from seattle to the bay, brooklyn to l.a. i was also pretty sure that this trend would present itself within the next...2 years? so i was off by a few years. j.crew hit the nail on the head:
