it seems like an appropriately drizzly day to ask this question of you...
being a seattle girl, i've held off on buying rain boots for most of my life (with one unfortunate cowboy-style mishap 3.5 years ago). but the new york sidewalks are hard enough on my shoes n boots, and i think it's only fair that i give them a break from these rainy days to come. so:
rain booties?

short ones! they're sweet AND you'll save a lot of shoes between now and august. mid-summer monsoons are the worst.
love the short booties- what is the original link? who are they by? I want a pair for myself!
andrea- true dat! last summer was the worst. but do these booties work with summer shorts n dresses?

socks might help to balance the bare leg proportions like in those madewell photos you posted...
but i see the photos on ebay sure don't persuade you to wear them with shorts!
