the great clog debate, mar.10

as you already know, i'm a little coocoo for clogs. i made it through the winter without a splurge, but now that spring is nipping at my heels i'm afraid i must give in.

i've had my eye on these sweet mamma jammas for a while now, but it didn't seem right buying open toed shoes while enduring one snow storm after another. they're pretty chunky and i know they run the risk of being unflattering but i've seen them on co-workers and have proof that they are sooo cute.


and then there are these babies. they have that unexpected super high heel and cute peep toe detail.

i love them both for different reasons but i just can't decide which to make mine. my boo doesn't like either of them, but i want your opinion.

being a seattle girl, i've held off on buying rain boots for most of my life (with one unfortunate cowboy-style mishap 3.5 years ago). but the new york sidewalks are hard enough on my shoes n boots, and i think it's only fair that i give them a break from these rainy days to come. so:

did anyone else get caught in that nasty downpour on saturday? eeks. i've been pondering the purchase of some puddle jumpers for a while- approximately 3 and 1/4 years, since the day i set foot in new york. after torturing a few precious pairs of leather boots in the process, i can finally say i'm ready for wellies. here's the problem: hunters are cute but i see them on every woman in a 60-mile radius! i want something different, but not crazy. black or grey or navy, tall and without too much detail...rubber is hard enough to get on, i don't need 10 inches of lacing thrown in. so i think i've found the ones. well, two:

take a peek inside my closet and you'll find many lovely things. but turn your gaze downward and this is where magic happens: the shoe pile....or more accurately, my pile-o-boots. i have a thing for boots- ankle, thigh-high, heeled, flat- and that thing is resurfacing in a very serious way. which pair should be the next to make their way into my closet??
